(PPH) operates and develops, through its subsidiaries, renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n<p>PPH\u2019s main objective is to construct, develop and operate energy projects in Panama, without discarding opportunities in the region complementary to the group\u2019s current strategy.<\/p>\n<p>PPH was created in 2007 based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Need for new generation capacity<\/li>\n<li>Availability of hydro resources<\/li>\n<li>Long term Power Purchase Agreement contracts for firm capacity<\/li>\n<li>Attractive economy for new projects<\/li>\n<li>Belief in the future of renewable energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Company currently has four hydroelectric plants in commercial operations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Hydroelectric Plant Pedregalito 1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.panamapower.net\/en\/projects\/hydroelectric-plant-pedregalito-1\/\">Generadora Pedregalito, S.A. <\/a>\u2013 Pedregalito 1 located in Boquer\u00f3n, Chiriqu\u00ed, with an installed capacity of 20MW<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Hydroelectric Plant Pedregalito 2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.panamapower.net\/en\/projects\/hydroelectric-plant-pedregalito-2\/\">Generadora R\u00edo Chico, S.A.<\/a> \u2013 Pedregalito 2 located in Alanje, Chiriqu\u00ed, with an installed capacity of 12.5MW<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Hydroelectric Plant Cochea\" href=\"http:\/\/www.panamapower.net\/en\/projects\/hydroelectric-plant-cochea\/\">Generadora Alto Valle, S.A.<\/a> \u2013 Cochea located in Dolega, Chiriqu\u00ed, with an installed capacity of 15.7MW<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Hydroelectric Plant El Alto\" href=\"http:\/\/www.panamapower.net\/en\/projects\/hydroelectric-plant-el-alto\/\">Hydro Cais\u00e1n, S.A.<\/a> \u2013 El Alto located in Renacimiento, Chiriqu\u00ed, with an installed capacity of 72MW<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Panama Power Holdings, Inc.
